BlackRock, a global investment management corporation, tracks market reports and financial news associated with geopolitical risks through its data project, Geopolitical Risk Dashboard.

The project has created the “BlackRock Geopolitical Risk Indicator (BGRI)” that gauges the level of attention the market and media pay to geopolitical risks as well as market sentiment.

In the “Risk indicators” section, the dashboard analyzes nine major geopolitical risks, including South Asian tensions, European fragmentation, U.S.-China competition, Gulf tensions, major cyberattacks, global trade tensions, North Korean conflict, major terrorist attacks and LatAm policy, with BGRI data from 2005 to present. The interactive interface enables users to select different risk categories and time points to view data. The “Focus risk” column provides analysis of each risk category. “How it works” details the methodology of the indicator. The project does not provide downloadable data.

2. Major 2020 U.S. Presidential Election polls at a glance

FiveThirtyEight aggregates a number of 2020 U.S. Presidential Election polls from major polling companies and news organizations. The project enables users to filter the data by poll type, state and district. Poll types include presidential approval, general election, generic ballot, U.S. House and Senate, Democratic and Republican primary candidates and governor. It further gives a grade to each pollster based on their historical accuracies and methodologies, ranging from A+ to D-.

3. U.S. Federal Elections results

Every two years, the U.S. Federal Election Commission publishes Federal Elections, a compilation of official, certified federal election results. These publications include primary, runoff and general election results for the Senate, the House of Representatives and (when applicable) the President. The institution provides election results from 1982 to 2018, and users can download data in pdf or xlsx.

4. Three COVID-19 vaccine and therapeutic trackers

BioRender, a company that helps scientists visualize scientific figures, aggregates publicly available information from multiple sources, including the US Center for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, the US National Institutes of Health and the Chinese Clinical Trials Registry, to track the development of vaccines and therapeutics for COVID-19.

The tracker visualizes the development of preclinical and human clinical vaccine candidates against COVID-19 in five stages: preclinical, phase I, phase II, phase III and phase IV. Also, the tracker provides information about the names of vaccine or therapeutic drugs, organization, technology, stage, countries involved in the process and clinical trial results.

Milken Institute

Milken Institute’s tracker

The Milken Institute is an independent economic think tank based in California, U.S.. One of its research organizations, FasterCures, is tracking the development of treatments and vaccines for COVID-19. According to FasterCure, there are currently 316 therapeutic options and 212 vaccines in development worldwide.

Data are organized by vaccine category, developer/researcher, product description and development stage. Users can download the full data in csv, which future details information about development organization, funding and sources of information.

The draft landscape of COVID-19 candidate vaccines

The World Health Organization (WHO) has collected documents concerning the development of 38 vaccines in clinical trials and 149 vaccine candidates in preclinical phase that are meant to combat the novel coronavirus. The titles and links of the documents are presented in a table, which also details the developer/manufacturer of the vaccine, type, number and timing of doses, clinical stages and etc. Viewers can access the original documents through hyperlinks.
